My students use this form to track their own reading fluency. I love seeing their smile when they see their own progress from last read. First, pair students up in twos. Then partner A reads while partner B listens to see if they are correct. After a minute of reading, Partner A records his/her number of words on reading log. Last, Partner B reads and records. We do this once a week and students read 2 passages at a time.
Like DIBELS, I also have them read to me monthly and I time them. It is interesting to see their reading log compare to my data.
