I created these materials for a friend who teaches sixth grade science. She encouraged me to share them with you!
I included 2 crossword puzzles
and 2 seek-a-word puzzles
(with answer keys), a memory game
for matching terms to definitions, a short "I Have Who Has?"
game and the terms
LARGE and the definitions
almost as large for posting on your wall. Simply print, maybe back with some colored paper, and post!
Here's the terms/definitions we used:
✓ Absolute Zero – the particles have NO kinetic energy
✓ Conduction – heat transfer from objects that are touching
✓ Conductors – CAN conduct heat well
✓ Convection – heat transfer in fluids
✓ Heat – the transfer of thermal energy
✓ Insulators – do NOT conduct heat well
✓ Radiation – heat transfer by electromagnetic waves
✓ Temperature - the AVERAGE kinetic energy of the particles
✓ Thermal Energy – the TOTAL kinetic energy of all the particles
✓ Thermal Expansion – heated matter expands
