PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This pack contains a wide variety of activities for the virtue of Respect - perfect for beginning of the year. Great for the first month of school (but can be used at anytime) to build respect: respect for myself, respect for others, and respect for my world.

Activities included:
Respect T-chart (large and small) – Use the large icons to make a t-chart on poster paper. Use the single sheet copy for personal, small group t-charts or to put on the wall.

Quotes – 5 quotes that speak to what respect is. These lead to great discussions about respect and how to show it.

Quote processing page – a ½ sheet for students to process what a quote means about respect.

Virtue Voucher – Anyone can fill these out – students, teachers, and other adults in your room when they see someone showing respect. I usually have a board to post them for the week.

Chain of Respect Craft/Activity - Template for making a chain of respect

I AM Activity – Build respect for yourself! Prewriting page and example included.

Video/Stories – There is 1 video and 2 book processing pages. The processing page helps them think about what the story says about RESPECT. Answer sheet is included for example answers. A book list and blank processing page is also included for additional readings.

Letter Writing Prewriting and Letter Paper – Have students think of someone they really respect. Why do they respect this person? Have them write a letter thanking the person and explaining why they respect him/her.

Respect Word Wall – Common words used when talking about respect. Students can use for speaking and writing.

Respect Role Play – 12 situations that commonly happen (more than 30 roles!) Students can act these out to practice showing respect and using respectful language.

Respect Discussion Starters – 10 open-ended discussion topics – great for Morning Meeting. A processing page is included for students to write about their beliefs.

Home project - Endangered species project to work on Respect for the World. This can be an optional project (or another school project.)

A month full of exciting, engaging activities around RESPECT!
