The Love Notes Project began when I told my students about a radio show I heard about a woman who left a sticky note on a bathroom mirror in a restaurant. It said something like "God loves you, and everything will be fine." When another woman later walked into the bathroom, she saw the note and began crying - she had cancer and had little time to live. Seeing the inspirational note made her think about her faith and her future, and when she did that, she thought about her family and how much she loved them. When she returned to the table, the whole family gathered around her, embrased her, and cried. By the end of the evening, they left as a close and caring family.
My students and I got teary eyed, and we decided that we would like to share "love notes" with others. The rules are simple: write anything positive you like, place the note where someone will find it, don't tell anyone. You HAVE to try this. I can't tell you what awesome results you will see in the attititudes of your students when they begin to think more of others than of themselves. Just add your own sticky notes, and let the adventure begin.
