This bundled lesson plan set features two two-page study guides on the respiratory system. The study guides contain twenty-seven and twenty-six questions respectively. The questions reinforce concepts and terms pertaining to the anatomy and physiology of the respiratory system in accordance with the text in a standard Human Anatomy and Physiology textbook. A word bank is provided for the fill in the blank questions on each study guides. Other questions are short answer and multiple choice. Answer keys are provided with color. The study guides could be combined and modified with assigned point values for the questions to become a unit exam on the respiratory system as well.
A sampling of subtopics and terms covered include: role and identification of chemoreceptors, breakdown of the visceral and parietal pleura (serous membranes), use of ATP for half or full cycle of breathing depending on the health of the person, identifying factors that increase and decrease the rate of respiration, identifying functions of the nose, differentiating conditions of the respiratory system, explaining the physiology of an asthma attack and an allergic reaction, explaining how Boyle's Law relates to inhalation, what determines the loudness and pitch of your voice, etc.
