Preparing students today to function successfully in the workplace of tomorrow is a BIG challenge. Research tells us that we will be more successful if we can actively engage students in their own learning. Getting students to respond to what they read is a research-based process intended to get students thinking, problem solving, and comprehending. Remember, it is okay for students to struggle. We all struggle with life’s problems and therefore this is good preparation for real life!
This activity gives students CHOICE and an opportunity to use their digital VOICE. Students select the topic of their choice. When they click on it, it takes them to the place where they will type their response. If students do not have access to keyboarding, the packet can be printed for them. This type of learning serves as a gateway for students to use real world thinking and skills as they: investigate, organize thinking, report findings, and share what they have discovered.
