This print-and-go activity for English Language Arts is perfect for emergency substitute plans or a day when you need an extra activity. Students are instructed to read from a text (either a class novel or an independent reading book) and then write a response to their choice of five prompts. This activity aligns with CCSS RL1 (Citing textual evidence) and can be used over and over throughout the school year - no need to find new sub plans if you're out again! This activity is designed to last approximately one hour, although this can be increased or decreased by altering the amount of reading time required before writing.
Note: The directions and prompts are on the first page. The 2nd page is filled with lines for easy copying and use.
