The Visual Arts curriculum requires pupils to engage in making different types of visual art but also to look at and respond to art made by other people and established artists. This resource contains eighteen display posters to assist pupils in responding to a painting.
The posters contain prompt questions to get pupils thinking about a painting that they are looking at. Examples include: “Would you like to see other paintings by the same artist?”; “What do you think the artist was trying to say in this painting?”; “Does the painting remind you of anything else?” etc.
The resource also contains the same prompt questions in small card format so that the prompt questions can be used in small group work when getting a group to respond to a painting.
