The No Prep Response to Literature Sheets were developed to help students: think critically about what they read, make text connections, and practice literacy skills independently. Students can use these sheets to respond to what they read independently during independent reading (Daily 5 or other). The sheets help a teacher assess comprehension and skill development of individual students. Likewise, the Response to Literature Sheets have higher order thinking skills and test prep built into them. The leveled Response to Literature Sheets offer teachers the ability to support their learners where they were at or where they needed to be challenged.
NO PREP Scaffolded Sheets Contain the Following Skills:
genre, author’s purpose, and retelling (one page)
+ questioning, text connections, and writing (two pages)
+ opinion and persuasion (three pages)
