This is a sheet that I use with my younger students. After playing a piece of music, the students write the title and their feelings toward the music. They are required to write in complete sentences and give me responses that make sense. There is also a place where the students can draw a picture that matches the music. Students will often say they do not like it simply because it is different. But after doing this activity with them several times, I was able to get them to be more open minded and more critical of what they heard. It has been a real success for my classroom.
