RESTORATIVE JUSTICE: PUTTING THE PIECES TOGETHER JIGSAW PUZZLE ACTIVITY
Restorative Justice focuses on conflicts between people. Whether it is a small or large conflict we should try to solve them in a proactive manner. It is important that everyone involved feels at ease with the solution to the problem and it is important to realize our actions can affect others in many different ways. Students can take time to cool down by cutting out the following jigsaw puzzle and answering the six basic Restorative Justice questions. Once they have solved their conflict and put the pieces together they can glue their puzzle onto copy paper or place it in a journal. At this time the instructor or group can talk about the conflict together. A cooling down period always helps when dealing with conflict. This is a proactive activity that calms and soothes the person(s) in dealing with conflict.
