During this activity once we have read about and discussed what resumes are and their functions, I let students evaluate sample resumes in groups to see if they worked in HR if they would interview these people based on their resumes. I put students in groups based on this worksheet and I set a timer on the SmartBoard. Each group will answer the questions on the worksheet about each resume. For extra accountability which I turn into an exit discussion, I make each group share one comment about each resume on the SmartBoard (each resume has a number and I write that number on the SmartBoard for each group to put their most important comment about up on the board). At the end, they turn in this worksheet and we discuss their most important comments that are up on the board as closing activity for the class period or a beginning activity if done the next day. My sample resumes came from my resume, my husband's, and ones I made up but you could find yours in all different places and they would work with this worksheet/ activity!
