Have you ever done peer editing and it just seems that students talk with their partner the entire time and do not even really look at each other's paper? Well, here is a creative way for students to peer edit that is also fair to all students because multiple kids will look at each student's paper in just one class period! I use a timer on my SmartBoard and divide the time up by how long the class period is. For example, there are 5 steps on the peer edit sheet and if you want to complete the activity for 40 minutes then set the timer at 8 minutes each time the paper is passed. This is a very directive approach to peer editing that keeps all students on task and does not place the responsibility of editing on just one student. This particular peer edit sheet is for resumes.
