Retelling resources for fiction and nonfiction text. Two folders include characteristic and element posters of retelling narrative and nonfiction text, criteria charts for retelling narrative and nonfiction text, teacher and student rubrics for an oral retelling of narrative and nonfiction text, retelling posters for both fiction and nonfiction, and finally sentence frames for students to give each other feedback on their retelling. These resources are appropriate from grades 2-4 and are especially important for diverse learners such as English Language Learners. Finally these retelling resources are a prerequisite for the skill of writing summaries for both fiction and nonfiction texts.
