This measurement center includes directions for use, student recording sheets, and six different sets of measurement cards that picture real-life items. Cards can be changed weekly to give students new items to measure during a measurement unit up to 6 weeks long. You can also replace the measurement cards with 10 real-life items you would like students to measure, like pencils or paper strips, meaning you can use the center all year long.
For each item, students will be required to make an estimate of length in both inches and centimeters, and then to measure the item using both units. At the bottom, they will create and answer questions based on the data they generated.
Teachers may use this center to have students measure to the nearest whole inch, half inch, or quarter inch. Answer keys are given in the nearest quarter inch to make grading easier.
