I created this project as an end of the year project to help my students review material for their upcoming End-of-Course Exam. The idea is simple--students pick a topic that has been covered this past year and create a story book out of it. By making the audience young children it makes students focus on what is really important about a topic and then explain that topic thoroughly.
This is a very open-ended project that encourages creativity. I have left the instructions and rubric as a Word file so that you can modify for your needs. I use this project for my tenth grade World History class, but you could easily use it for any history class!
This project aligns with Common Core writing standards. You could also turn it into a full research project.
