Do you teach a class that has a standardized test at the end? In this review station pack, you will find six separate stations for students to work through in preparation for the test.
Station 1: Critical Response--allow students to flex their writing prowess by reading CR answers, score them, and create their own response to the question.
Station 2: Figurative Language--students have the opportunity to match FL terms to definitions and examples before also matching music lyrics to the correct FL term.
Station 3: Diction--students attempt to employ their understanding of diction and word choice to fill out a diction chart and create diction "flashcards" to aid their understanding.
Station 4: Point of View--students identify the POV of various pictures and describe by each picture has that POV.
Station 5: Found Poetry--using teacher provided newspapers or magazines, students create a poem that follows set parameters to demonstrate their writing skills.
Station 6: Inference/Summary--watching a video entitled "Alma", student predict things about the video and work on their summarization skills.
This is a great review pack for high school classrooms because it allows students to work through, discuss, and demonstrate what they've learned throughout the semester and prepare them for that pesky test.
