This resource about the plant kingdom will help students study for the test and be well prepared. The test covers parts of a plant (pistil, stamen, ovary, etc.), Chloroplast and photosynthesis, uses of plants, types of plants (vascular and nonvascular), and conifer/fruit bearing plants (angiosperms and gymnosperms).
The review is designed to cover all the material that will be on the test, but it is worded differently on the test so that it is not a complete copy of the test. Students love to play the review as a game. Some of the games I have used:
- basketball review (if you get the question correct your team gets a chance to shoot)
- Connect 4 (if you answer the question correctly your team gets to place a sticky note on the graph - usually 5 x6 depending on how many teams you have - and the goal is to connect 4 before any of the other teams)
- Grudge Ball (each team is given 10 x's on the board. Once a team answers correctly they get a chance to shoot, if they make it they may erase 2 x's from the board, if they miss they may only erase 1 x. The team with the most x's at the end of the game wins. If a team looses all 10 x's they have to make a shoot in order to gain 2 x's to be back in the game)
