This is a short review that students can use for any type of reading, but mainly fiction. It is best used for short stories but can just as easily be used with longer non-fiction texts. In this review, students apply the strategies of character traits, prediction, setting and conflict to a text. After identifying each in terms of what they are reading, they are also expected to explain how each strategy is, has, or possibly will impact the story. Also included is a quick activity built around the homonyms effect and affect.
