For IB Math or Pre-Calculus students, this worksheet is meant to be a refresher or enhancer of skills developed in Algebra 2. On the first page, students are reminded of the Laws of Exponents and asked to apply those laws to simplifying monomials with rational exponents.
On the second page, students are simplifying surds or radicals as well as rationalizing denominators by multiplying by conjugates.
I like to use this as a group worksheet for my classes since it is review. That way, they are able to discuss, and I encourage them to check there answers with my key as they conclude each section. This could also be used as a homework sheet or even as teacher-guided notes.
