Are your students clueless when you ask them to revise and edit? Do they have a hard time knowing how to recognize their errors and make meaningful improvements? This product is a step-by-step strategy I designed to help my fourth grade students learn to revise and edit their compositions in preparation for the upcoming STAAR test. It is a 5-step process called Fun with Capitalization, Punctuation and Spelling (this is a mneumonic to help remember the steps), or FWPCS. Students use a different color highlighter for each step, so their goal is to make their rough draft look like a rainbow. It has really helped my students become effective critics of their own writing.
