This is a "colorful" way to get your students to actually READ their rough drafts and take an active part in making it better. Using a system of steps and different colors, students won't be coming up to you saying, "What am I supposed to be looking for, my paper is PERFECT?!?". This can be easily used as a guided lesson for editing in the younger grades and an independent activity for older grades.
