In my classroom, I teach students to write the body paragraphs of their essays through the use of PEEL. After students write the first drafts of their essays, they always complain that they don't know whether or not they have all the required components. I created this resource so students can check their essays. They can ensure that they have all of the requirements needed for an essay. Like ratiocination, in this activity, students are encouraged to go back into their essays and highlight certain elements. When they are finished, they should have a brilliantly highlighted paper.
