Note to teacher:
This fun Kaboom game is a great way for students to review information about the Revolutionary War (American Revolution).
To prepare game:
Print out all 32 game cards, cut and laminate. Use a Pringles
or coffee can to store the cards in. Decorating it like a firework would be best. (Glue construction paper on the can and use the “firework” label and clip art to decorate the can.
How to play: Divide the student's into groups (3-5 per group works best) and they each get a turn to draw a card from the container. They read the question aloud for the group to hear. They have a certain amount of time (5-15 seconds would work good) to answer the question. If the student knows it, they get the card. If they run out of time or don't get it, the card goes back into the container. If a Kaboom is drawn, all their cards have to be put back into the container. The cards from the Kabooms don’t have to go back in the container. This is because the game would go on forever if everything was placed back! The student with the most cards at the end of the game wins.
