This Revolutionary War Writing Unit is a research project that will engage all learners. This unit contains rubrics, guided notes, parent letters, research notes, guided research practice, independent research practice and outlines. In addition, there are exemplars embedded throughout the unit. There are 24 pages in this easy to follow unit.
This unit begins with a parent letter that clearly explains the project. The next page is a list of all the topics that students can choose from. This helps students not pick a topic that has no information out there. The next pages help student understand how to organize their note cards as they research their topic. The following pages are guided notes and practice for writing their paper. Students will be able to to see exemplar paragraphs as they practice turning their research into paragraphs. Next there is a research rubric that I continue to show students throughout the project. Finally there is a presentation parent letter and rubric.
This unit is always a hit with the kiddos and a huge memory maker!
