In this project students will work in groups to film a movie trailer/preview (not an actual movie) about the accomplishments of a specific historical woman during the American Revolution. They are required to do research on the woman, write a storyboard/script, and film the trailer. It is a really fun project, and my students always get very into it. They have a lot of opportunity for creativity. Included here are the project instructions/requirements, tips, list of historical women of the Revolution Era, example cover page, example storyboard/scrip, and blank storyboard/script chart. Because I can upload the entire Word Document to our school's website for the students to access, I have left the blank storyboard/script boxes very small. I have the students download it, and as they type, the boxes stretch. However, if you prefer to pass out hard copies, merely put the cursor in a box and hit "enter" until each box is the size you desire. I usually assign this at the beginning of the unit, and set the due date for the week we return from Christmas break. This Project is also great because it can be adapted for other Historical topics as well.
