This combined graphic organizer, discussion guide, and scaffolded response task guides students through multiple ads from leading 2020 presidential candidates (updated 1/13/20), prompting them to reflect on rhetorical tools used (including ethos, pathos, and logos), intended demographic, and special interest targets. Sentence stems are included as a support for struggling learners in the response task. As a timely multimedia exercise, this is sure to prompt critical thought and spirited discussion among students of all skill levels! (Students will need background knowledge in ethos, pathos, and logos. See my cloze notesheet on rhetorical appeals!)

Two files are included in the .zip folder: I recommend printing from .pdf, though a .docx is included for editing purposes (formatting may not be true to the original design). Links to campaign ads are embedded in the files.
