Product Description
A 1-page handout summarizes 15 strategies to present ideas effectively for various audiences and circumstances and can serve as a brain-storming stimulus for inventing/designing an effective essay. Seeing all of them on one page allows you to get an overview of what approaches might be appropriate for your circumstance—cover all your best bases! Possible strategies include: analysis, cause/effect, classification, comparison, definition, description, evaluation, example, graphics, humor, literary (story and figurative language), process, proposal, quote, and Toulmin model. The “trick” is to combine a few of these strategies as appropriate and still keep your argument unified and coherent! Also, it may depend on your intended audience: different strokes for different folks.
Used/tested and engaging with English Composition, English 101.
