In this packet you will RHYME, DEFINE and RECYCLE!!
The first set of card-(36 in all)- are a matching/rhyming game. All words are taken from the book. Use the activity to address phonological awareness and rhyming skills. Give each player 5 cards. Place the rest in a pile. Take turns finding rhyming matches (play like “Go Fish”) until all cards have been used. (challenge: after making a matching rhyme pair, name 3-5 more words that rhyme with the pair).
The second set of 18 cards are vocabulary words from the story. Use these to match up the words with the correct definition.
BONUS Comprehension cards: 18 question cards related to the story are included. Use these cards to test your students comprehension of the story.
