Thank you so much for viewing this quick little intervention set. It was designed to engage the students in a brief session of practicing rhyming. Directions for use are included.
*picture cards from pack that are laminated and cut out
How to use:
Say: I’m going to show you a picture and say a word. I want you to tell me a word that rhymes with the word I say. (The answer can be a real or nonsense word.) Can you tell me a word that rhymes with…?
Continue doing this intensely with the remaining rhyming cards for about 5 minutes or so.
Use again daily if possible until the student has a firm understanding of rhyming.
Card Pictures: blizzard, pig, flower, sun, gift, clown, crust, hay, chest, chin, phone, ship, shirt, shoe, nurse, thread, throne, wheel, snail, cloud, square, ball, star, note, fish, shark, fire, lunch, bite, crown. That’s 30 practice cards in all.
