This fun rhyming center has two activities: puzzle rhyme matching and writing with rhymes. It was created as an extension to the story “Green Eggs and Ham”.
There are twelve green eggs with rhyming words on each half of the shell that can be used for rhyming practice.
Option one: Have student simply match up pieces like a two piece puzzles to create rhymes. Option 2: Make it a matching rhyme game; turn the pieces upside down and take turn drawing to find rhymes.
The second set of twelve eggs the same words just provided in line art to save ink. You may want to use these and copy onto green paper.
Have students record the rhymes on the paper provided.
The story “Green Eggs and Ham” was written with only fifty words. Have students either write a designated number of sentences using only these words or have them write their own story using only these words. (Could also have them write a story using as many of the words as they can within it.)
