Rhyming Dust Bunnies by Jan Thomas is one of the most popular books I have ever had in my library! The kids love the hilarious rhyming dust bunnies and the book is a great springboard for practicing rhyming words.
These cute worksheets feature the dust bunnies with a speech bubble just like in the book. Students are asked the same question the dust bunnies ask, "what rhymes with...." and then asked to produce their own rhyming words. Four pages are included, each with a different word to rhyme (car, dog, cat, and and bug).
After using these worksheets in my own classroom I modified the font to be one that is easier to read for the youngest students.
One of the Common Core Reading Standards in Foundational Skills states that kindergarten students can "Recognize and produce rhyming words." This activity is great for helping you meet this standard!
