Rhyming Game - Rhyming activity
Digging for Rhymes is an interactive rhyming game. The students dig in a container of beans and macaroni or sand for rhymes. It contains 108 coin cards with 54 pairs of rhymes and 9 coin cards.
Bury the coins in the beans or sand. Each child digs for a rhyme and pulls out a coin. The child generates the rhyme for the picture they selected. Play until a child finds the treasure card.
For children not yet ready to generate rhymes keep half of the coins together as a mat. The first 6 mats have one half of each rhyming pair and the last 6 mats have the other half of the rhyming pair. When the child digs for a rhyme they find the picture on the mat that it rhymes with. They play until the entire mat is covered.
