My favourite rhyming game is the Rhyming with Elephants board game.
The goal of the game is to be the first one to collect all 4 colour elephant cards and return to your START position. You do this by moving around the game board and landing on the different elephant spaces.
Players move around the board by rolling the dice. Players can move in any direction, the connecting lines go. This means they can go side to side or up and down. They cannot move diagonally.
While this game could be played with any learning goal, this version was designed with rhymes in mind. When a player lands on an image, he or she is required to make a rhyming pair using that image.
The rhyme families in this game are, -at, -ip, -ug, -op-, -en, -og, -ar, -an, -un, -ap, -am and -et
I’ve also included a quick Bingo set for extra rhyme practice and a few rhyming cards that can be cut into pairs for dominos or separately for concentration, go fish or any other rhyming card game.
