Rhyming lotto cards.
First, use the pictures to demonstrate how to choose one and place it into the pocket chart, together with the students demonstrate how to come up with several different rhyming words per picture.
Then, on day two the pictures are copied and then the cards are cut up into separate pictures and placed into individual bags for independent practice. Students play in pairs, by taking turns. Partner one, will turn over a card from the top of the pile, if they can come up with a rhyming word, they keep the card, if they can't it goes back to the bottom of the stack. Whoever has the most cards at the end wins!
Can be easily differentiated, some student pairs only get the first page of pictures, and other student pairs get a bag with all of the pictures.
