Rhyming Memory & Matching Game
Print the picture cards out on card stock, cut out, and laminate for durability.
There are several games I like to play with these cards. The first game I play with the students is a simple matching game. The students have to match the rhyming pairs from several sets of rhyming pictures placed face up on the table.
Once the students can proficiently match the rhyming pairs, I use the cards in a center as a memory game. I usually start out by putting out a five rhyming pairs. The cards are laid out face down and the students take turn flipping two cards to find a match. As the students get the hang of the game, I add more pairs for them to play with.
The cards can also be posted around the classroom and the students can write the room trying to find the matching rhyming words and record them in their writing journal.
I hope you and your students enjoy this resource!
