This fun rhyming game is a great way to help students practice producing rhyming words! This engaging game can be played quickly as a warm up or review or can be played again and again challenging different students or tallying to see who can get the most wins! It is perfect for small group, intervention, or independently during workstations/centers.
To play, students take turns drawing a card from the racecar rhyming pile. If a student can produce a word that rhymes with the object in the car, the student can move up a space. If not, the student will discard their card and it is the next students turn.
Whichever student makes it to the finish line first wins!
Another way to play is to have students name words in the word family. For example, if they draw the “key” picture, the student might say, “three, bee, tree, me” and get to move 4 spaces.
