This unit was created as a “tricky” rhyming unit. Many of our students can identify simple rhymes such as “cat” and “hat”, but can they differentiate the more subtle differences between words like “hang” and “sing”? We all know how important phonemic awareness skills are to academic success. We also recognize that students who struggle with speech sound productions or other communication impairments may be at an elevated risk for difficulties in these areas. This unit was designed to be minimal prep for the speech language pathologist or teacher, in addition to a fun, interactive way for students to target these important skills!
