Description

Students LOVE this fun rhythm game! This "Match the Beats" card game will help improve your students music reading skills and it is reproducible for any class size! Students won't even realize they are learning because they will be having fun moving around the room to find their partner.

Students will be practicing:

- duration of note values

- many different combinations of adding up note values

⭐This game is also included in our Music Theory Games- Level 1 Bundle and our MUSIC GAMES SUPER BUNDLE - save $$ with bundles!⭐

Students LOVE this game because they get to move around and help each other find partners – they are highly motivated! It’s unlike your normal band activity and the change of pace makes it memorable!

If you’re not familiar with this game, it’s very simple to teach. Each student gets a card with a different set of notes on it. They add up the total number of beats shown on their card. Then they find a partner who has the same number of beats as them (but with a different combination of note types).

DETAILED instructions (with pictures) are included along with a number of ways to SIMPLIFY the game and a number of ways to make it more CHALLENGING. The instructions are written to work with any of our “Find a Partner” games – beats, melody, symbols or terms.

Volume 2 includes FOUR individual sets:

Set 1 – Basic rhythms and dotted quarter notes/rests and ties

Set 2 – Adds 4 beamed sixteenth notes

Set 3 – Adds eighth/2 sixteenths and 2 sixteenth/eighth as well as single sixteenth note/rests

Set 4 – Adds sixteenth/eighth/sixteenth and dotted eighth/sixteenth

EACH SET includes 16 sets matching of cards (32 cards total). They can be printed in full color or, to save ink, you may print them in “greyscale.”

⭐This game is also included in our Music Theory Games- Level 1 Bundle and our MUSIC GAMES SUPER BUNDLE - save $$ with bundles!⭐
