In common time there are basically eight different rhythm figures. As students learn these figures, it enables them to read rhythms by sight.
In these exercises the rhythm figures are presented on one string at a time. Students methodically learn the rhythm figures as well as making the staff/ fingering connection. For example on the first string the figures use only the notes E, F, and G.
When combined with my “Mile-a-Minute Staff Recognition Exercises”, “Worksheets & Reference Charts”, and “Easy Ensembles”, students have a focused path towards music reading proficiency and the enjoyment of group music making.
