This is a fun rhythm game that challenges students and helps them set goals!
This file includes 9 pages of 50 different rhythms using Quarter notes, Barred Eighth Notes, Half Notes, Barred Sixteenth Notes and Quarter rests. When the cards are cut out they look great mounted on a 3x5 notecard (I used colored notecards)
To do the activity you place the cards out in a path that students will follow when clapping the rhythms on the different notecards. Students start with the first notecard and try to clap as many rhythms as the can to see how far along the path they can get.
You can use this as a one time activity or do it several times throughout the year. Before laminating the cards I would number them in the order that you place them down so you can remember for the other times. Use the Rhythm Walk List file that is included to keep track of the students and which rhythm they stopped at so the next time they can start at that same rhythm and try to get further!
