This is a music dictation sheet that provides an way for students to write dictated melodies over a 4 period time, example, 4 weeks. Teachers provide the melody that reflects the ability of their students and the goals of their curriculum. This page could be used to track student growth and challenges through a period of time, then put in a portfolio.
It is recommend students first tackle notating the rhythm on the rhythm line, then the melody. Instructions are suggested on page one of the activity for the teacher, but optional.
Notation is provided as a model on the bottom of the student page.
