Measuring with Emma is an interactive, self-correcting music game focusing on identifying music rhythm, note values and time signatures .Designed for both Google Slides and Adobe Reader (PDF,) it allows students go on a virtual adventure in Emma's Bakery Shop visiting different scenes to help the children with practicing their time signatures, note values and rhythm skills and provide teachers an opportunity to assess students in the process. Students also search for missing ingredients to help the bakery kids make their desserts. If an ingredient is found, that student gets a extra turn. Students are given over 40 questions to answer. It is a great way to integrate technology into the classroom and differentiate instruction.
It also helps students (especially second language learners) develop language skills and vocabulary development. But, most importantly, it provides lots of fun while learning about Music!
This game can be projected for a class to play at once or used on an iPad or tablet for individual for small group/center play. It can be assigned through Google Classroom as a way to practice skills independently. It takes the place of flash cards!
Each location is like a mini game It can be played over one or several class periods. LOTS of content here! I hope your students enjoy Let's Bake with Olivia as much as my students have!
