This project is a dance presentation that I have created for my dance aerobics class (comparable to Zumba or Jazzercise). It is intended for a aerobics class final, but can easily be converted to fit a traditional PE class too.
The project is based around a group of students creating two choreographed songs (each with a different theme, zumba, kick boxing, core etc). The group then presents the songs by teaching the class the dance patterns and safety, teaching the class how to follow along. Then the group plays through the songs with the class mirroring their moves as if the group was the aerobics teacher.
I love this project because it really helps break down the nervousness many students experience in front of their peers. Although it may seem really scary to a student at first, they get to present with their group members in a new format. The class is in full participation concentrating on keeping up instead of idly watching. I often get comments from students afterwards like "That wasn't SO bad, if I can dance in front of a group, talking will seem a whole lot easier next time"
This product includes:

-A handout for students to follow (rules/directions)
