Looking for a way to liven up sight reading rhythms? This simple game is based on the classic children's game that takes advantage of more difficult student's competitive natures and encourages more participation.
Personally I use this as a warm up as the students are entering the room. The students get a minute or two to look the rhythms over in one game and then game play starts. one game takes about 5 minutes.
There are 16 tic tac toe games. All 16 include quarter notes, beamed eighth notes and quarter rests.
Four slides are meant to practice half notes, 4 sixteenth notes, 4 sixteenth/eighth combination (ti tipi/tipi ti), 2 syncopa and the last 2 have a bit of all the rhythmic elements.
Feedback is always appreciated! Thanks for looking!
