Product Description
This lesson will introduce students to Shakespeare's character
Richard III before viewing the Ian McKellan film.
Students will learn where the play falls in the Shakespearean canon, will be introduced to the concept of hero/villain, and the characteristics of the Elizabethan villain. It is recommended that Richard's first soliloquy ("Now is the winter of our discontent" ) be distributed and read because the ppt presentation will analyze Richard through his own words.
The presentation will also explain why Richard III is the most performed Shakespearean play and why the evil character would appeal to actors.
