If you are looking for a way to assure student learning, look no further! Students, unfortunately, don't always work on our timeline. Sometimes it takes a student multiple attempts to pass an assessment. I used to be against this because I felt students would fail again and it created more work for me.
Then, I attended a grading workshop of Rick Wormeli's and I created a form that put students back in the driver's seats of their own education.
This form provides a place for students to devise activities that will help them be more successful in relearning material of any subject, a calendar to prepare them for this process, and a reflection on why these activities may help them to be successful.
I hope you love using it as much as I do. It reduces my paper load and students are really learning the material. It also makes students work harder to do the work ahead of time so they don't have to go through this process. It's a win-win!
