Ride the Rock Cycle is a simple board-style game that teaches and reinforces the steps and processes of the rock cycle. Your students will learn how each type of rock - igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic - form.
Included is the board with directions, which can be printed on regular printer paper or enlarged to 17x22, and a "Rock Cycle Passport" students use to keep track of their "Ride". You will need to provide tokens or movers and dice or a spinner.
This game is designed to teach and reinforce, NOT TO ASSESS. Students will learn simply by playing the game. Students do not need any prior knowledge to play, though previewing the vocabulary is of course recommended. Better knowledge of the material will not increase student's odds of winning, thus lower-performing students will not be lost or discouraged from playing.
