This fantastic telling time unit, containing eight activities, will reinforce the concept of reading and writing time, calculating time intervals and will help your students to understand time durations.
Included in the unit:
Students play in pairs or small groups, matching analogue and digital times to the nearest five minutes.
Students calculate the time interval between two analogue clock. Student response sheet and answer key included.
Teacher or student chooses a particular time. Student must draw the time on the analogue clock, write it is words and digital. Calculate an hour before and an hour after and draw or write what they would be doing at that time. A sheet with time duration before and after is left blank for you to write your own time duration in.
One Minute Challenges
Separate challenges for students to complete. How many can they do within one minute?
Build a Clock
Students build the clock, attaching the hands and numbers to the correct places.
Students solve the time word problems on the question cards. All time calculations are less than one hour. Student response sheet and answer key included.
Draw the Time
Students are given digital times which they must draw on the analogue clocks. Three levels of difficulty included; to the hour, to the hour/half hour and to the nearest five minutes.
Write the Time
Students are given images of analogue times. They must write the digital time below each clock. Three levels of difficulty included; to the hour, to the hour/half hour and to the nearest five minutes.
