PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This resource is designed for a High School Government or Civics Class. There are two assessment options in this resources.

Option one is a longer post election reflection essay and option two is a list of choices for shorter reflection essay.

The longer essay could be used as a unit assessment or even as a midterm or final assessment and the short essay prompts could be done as classwork or homework assignments.

The prompts ask students to frame their answers using the results of the most recent election, however this activity can be done at any point in the year.

This activity assesses students understanding of:
-The political parties
-The electoral college
-The role the media plays in elections
-The role of interest groups in elections

Students look at the results of the most recent presidential election, as well as congressional elections, state and local elections, and ballot measures.

There is a detailed rubric/scoring guided included with this resource.
